Here are some of the most common questions we get about fabric, materials, and fabric wholesale.
FAQs About Fabric and Fabric Wholesale:
How Do I Find a Specific Fabric?
If you have a fabric in mind that you cannot find on our website, please contact us with the details and we will do our best to find it for you. We work with an extensive network of fabric manufacturers and suppliers so chances are we can track down any specific request for you.
How Do I Know If a Fabric Is in Stock?
All of the fabrics on our website are listed as either In Stock or Out of Stock. If a fabric is out of stock, it will say "Out of Stock" on the product page. We do our best to keep all fabrics in stock, but sometimes we sell out of popular items quickly.
If you need a fabric for a specific project with a deadline, please contact us and we will let you know if the fabric is currently in stock or when it will be back in stock if not.
How Much Fabric Do I Need?
This is a common question with no easy answer, as it depends on so many factors such as the size of the project, the type of fabric, and whether or not you need to match patterns.
As a general rule of thumb, we recommend ordering at least 15–20% more fabric than you think you need. This allows room for errors and mistakes that inevitably happen with any project.
It's always better to have too much fabric than not enough, so err on the side of caution when ordering.
What Is the Difference Between Woven and Knit Fabrics?
Woven fabrics are made on a loom and have a tendency to be stiffer with more structure than knit fabrics. Knit fabrics are made with interlocking loops of yarn and are usually softer and stretchier than woven fabrics.
Most projects require a specific type of fabric, so be sure to check before ordering. We have both woven and knit fabrics available on our website.
I Need a Fabric That's Not Listed on Your Website. Can You Help?
Yes! We would be happy to help you find the perfect fabric for your project. Again, we work with an extensive network of fabric manufacturers and wholesalers and can most likely get the exact fabric you need.
Please contact us with the specifics of what you're searching for and we'll do our best to find it from a top manufacturer.
How Do I Know Which Fabrics to Stock at My Retail Store?
There is no correct answer to this question. It depends on many factors such as the location of your store and your target market. It also depends on your customers' style and the types of sewing projects and crafts they like to make.
We recommend stocking a variety of popular fabrics. For example, it's always good to have a selection of materials like cotton fabric, flannel fabric, linen fabric, etc. Be sure to have material in different colors, patterns, and textures. This way you will have something for everyone.
Another unique idea is to have extra fabric and material on hand to create images and photos on material. If you have the tools and are able to do it, or if you can hire someone in your shop, your customers would love personalized prints like this.
If you are unsure about which fabrics to stock, please contact us and we will be happy to offer tips and make suggestions.
